How lighting affects the feeling of a room

Many overlook it, but lighting is one of the top factors of any room in the home or indeed office. The quality of light that enters the room can hugely affect not only your mood, but performance in the workplace. Shutters allow for the manipulation of natural light into the home or office, easily and comfortably. It is important to let natural light enter your rooms throughout the day in your living or working space to help improve your mood and motivation. Did you know that people who don’t get enough light can suffer from lower levels of productivity and it can even be depressing! This is why we believe it is so important to get the correct amount of natural light into all areas of your home and that when at work you also benefit from the correct levels. Many workplaces and business owners take this into account when designing and creating your working environment. Then comes the night and we all know how important it is to get a good night’s sleep, but sometimes we find that poor or ill-fitting window dressings can lead to us waking up at 6am when light starts pouring in through the edges or gaps in the window dressing. With bespoke shutters, this can be eliminated so that light only enters the room when you are ready for it! When fitting shutters to different rooms it is important to remember how light affects the ambience of each room. Higher levels of light invoke productivity and alertness, with lower level lighting creating a great resting and intimate environment. Our shutters allow for you to control this from room to room and at different times of the day, this simply can’t be done with more traditional window dressings such as curtains.
