A client approached us looking for us to install some shutters in both their children’s bedrooms. One set of shutters was for a young child’s room and the other, more of a study/bedroom area for the older brother.
Kirk was on hand in Brixton, to carry out this installation of shutters which were created for very different styles of bedroom.
Both sets of shutters which were created in our Fiji hardwood, create the perfect blend of privacy, lighting and views over a park. We used 76mm louvres to achieve this which will help with both work and play for the children and will achieve this for years to come as they get older.
In the younger child’s bedroom we designed around a bay window, using full height shutters with a mid rail two thirds of the way up, perfectly matching the window lines behind! We used a silent tilt rod system on these for more of a contemporary look and helping to childproof.
In the older brother’s bedroom and study area, two windows each side of a tall radiator, which were created in tier on tier style for the matching windows both sides. These shutters have great flexibility and feature centralised tilt rods as requested by the client.
The shutters were both finished in a lovely white paint with matching hinges which really works wonders with the neutral tones of the home and bright white furniture throughout. We also love the way the tier on tier shutters sit next to the tall radiator, as if they were always meant to be there!
