The owner of this lovely period style property in Dulwich, London was keen to have us create and install some bespoke shutters for each window of the home. The property featured different sizing’s of windows, and due to the age of the property it was crucial for our surveyor to take highly accurate measurements ready for the bespoke shutters, with Tom perfectly carrying out the installation.
Our client opted for café style shutters throughout, to be combined with curtains for the ultimate looks and privacy. The café style works fantastically with this style of home, oozing tradition and created to fully match with the lines of the original windows.
Blocking out unwanted attention from the street level, the café shutters create just enough privacy, with light still able to stream in through the top. The customers decision to combine with curtains had the added advantage of fully creating privacy when required and also adding to the traditional look, fitting with the look of the home and rooms.
These shutters were created from MDF, more cost effective than hardwood and extremely hardwearing over the years. We used pure white shutters with matching hinges, plain stiles and 76mm louvres with hidden tilt rods to create the desired look for our client which was traditional with a hint of modern aspects.
