A client in Canary Wharf, London reached out to us looking for the best solution for their ground floor flat windows and door leading out to their courtyard. As usual we discussed in detail the requirements with our new clients, to find out what they were trying to achieve from the shutters and how they wanted them to look.
It was important for the customer to have privacy and peace of mind in a busy area with overlooking neighbours and they also liked that the extra layer against their windows would act as a security deterrent from prying eyes!
We created the shutters to fit in a living room area against some lovely sash windows and also to some windows and a door facing out to the courtyard. Although all the shutters were made in differing sizes, we matched them in full height throughout and finished them all in off white paint.
The living room shutters feature mid rails which perfectly line up with the sash windows behind, the courtyard installation to the windows features no mid rail again to match the windows behind, with the door featuring a rail around the handle area for added strength and adjustment. We used a silent tilt rod system on all shutters for a more modern look.
All shutters have 63mm louvres which are thick enough to increase privacy to match our customers requirements and also better control of light entry when required. The clients were delighted with their new shutters and we hope they enjoy them for many years to come!
