Enhance the beauty of your home

Our shutter collection has been carefully chosen with our customers in mind. We believe that bespoke plantation shutters should be as durable as they are beautiful. Wooden shutters have long been the sustainable material of choice for shutters and our customers. The natural beauty, versatility, and longevity that wood can provide is proven by its use in all types of construction projects worldwide. Ideal for creating charming yet sturdy fittings, wooden shutters can achieve the perfect custom-made window dressing for your home or project. Call us on 020 8776 1484 to find out more.

Why choose wooden plantation shutters?

As a natural material, wood provides a range of benefits that make it a fantastic solution for robust and reliable shutters. The low thermal conductivity of the Paulownia hardwood we use results in a window covering that excels as an insulator, keeping your home comfortable whilst reducing your energy bills.

Wooden shutters are organic, long-lasting, easy to clean and have minimal maintenance needs. Being a favoured material that has remained in use for centuries, you can depend on wooden shutters becoming a lasting part of your home furnishings.

Which wood do we use for our wooden shutters?

Our hardwood shutters are manufactured from sustainable Paulownia. This material has the best ratio of strength to weight of any timber variety, making it the ideal choice for bespoke joinery. Paulownia can span wider expanses without sagging under its own weight, ensuring a perfect result every time.

How do MDF shutters compare?

MDF shutters can be an excellent alternative to hardwood, providing a cost-effective solution which doesn’t compromise on quality. Suitable for modest budgets, they are finished in a polypropylene coating to produce a durable shutter that is easy to clean. This makes them ideal for locations such as playrooms.

You needn’t worry about MDF providing an unsuitable finish. At ShuttersUp, we don’t compromise on quality, only providing shutters that are made from the most reliable materials. In fact, you can find this robust and versatile material within our Antigua and Cuba shutter ranges!
